About Truvia Sweeteners

Satisfying sweetness with fewer calories and carbs than sugar.

Our Sweeteners

We believe sweetness was meant to be enjoyed. That's why we created products that allow you to reduce sugar, not flavour. Born from the leaves of the stevia plant, our sweetness is rooted in nature along with the firm belief that sweetness does not have to be sacrificed.

Three Ingredients. Infinite Possibilities.

Stevia leaf cluster with crystals

Truvia Calorie-Free Sweetener is made with simply three ingredients: stevia leaf extract, erythritol and natural flavours. To make Truvia Calorie-Free Sweetener, we first take the sweetest parts of the stevia leaf and extract its sweetness. But stevia leaf extract is 200 times sweeter than sugar, so to balance the sweetness we add a sugar alcohol called erythritol. Then we add a special recipe of natural flavours to create great-tasting, calorie-free sweetness.

Stevia

The stevia leaf extract used in Truvia is a high purity sweetener containing the best-tasting parts of the stevia leaf.

Erythritol

Erythritol is a sweetener, produced by a fermentation process like beer and cheese. Erythritol is also found in fruits like grapes and pears.

Natural Flavours

Natural flavours are used to bring out the best of Truvia® Calorie-Free Sweetener, like pepper or salt or any other spice that would be used to enhance the taste of food.

From Stevia to Truvia Sweetener

In six stages, the sweetness of stevia makes the journey from harvest to your kitchen. By always following this series of steps, we ensure we obtain the best tasting parts of the stevia leaf to use in our sweeteners to add to your favourite dishes.

Stevia begins as a root-cutting cultivated in greenhouses.
It is then transplanted as a seedling to the field in early spring.
When ready, the leaves are harvested and dried.
The leaves are steeped in water to aid in the extraction process.
The sweet extract is then purified to concentrate the best tasting parts of the leaf.
Finally, Truvia stevia leaf extract is blended with other ingredients depending on your Truvia sweetener of choice.
