Apple Galette with Truvía® Calorie-Free Sweetener

Think homemade apple pie with a rustic, surprisingly sweet twist. Made with Truvía® calorie-free sweetener, this galette has 60% less sugar* and 25% fewer calories* than the full-sugar version. Makes 1 6-inch pie (8 servings).

  • 6 cups (1.5 L) apples, thinly sliced

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) fresh lemon zest

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) fresh lemon juice

  • 13 cup (75 mL) Truvía® calorie-free sweetener spoonable*

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon, ground

  • 18 tsp (.625 mL) nutmeg, ground

  • 12 tsp (2.5 mL) Diamond Crystal® kosher salt

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) cornstarch

  • 1 pie crust

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) butter

  • 1.

    Assemble all ingredients; preheat oven to 425° F (218°C).

  • 2.

    Place apples in bowl, top with lemon zest and juice; set aside.

  • 3.

    In mixing bowl, place Truvía® calorie-free sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, kosher salt, and cornstarch; blend well; pour over apples; mix well.

  • 4.

    Place pie crust dough on lightly floured surface; roll out; transfer to parchment-lined sheet pan.

  • 5.

    Place apple mixture into center of pie crust; leaving 112 inch border around edge of crust; place butter pats on top of apples.

  • 6.

    Flip up crust edge towards middle, pleating as you fold up.

  • 7.

    Bake in 425° F (218°C) oven for 45-50 minutes; rotate 180° half way through baking.

  • 8.

    Cool on wire rack; serve warm or at room temperature.

*This apple galette has 200 calories and 8 grams of sugar per serving as compared to a full-sugar apple galette that has 260 calories and 22 grams of sugar per serving.
