Cinnamon Sugar Baked Donuts Recipe with Truvia Cane Sugar Blend

Ingredients

Donuts

  • 2 cups (475 mL) all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup (180 mL) Truvia Cane Sugar Blend

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) baking powder

  • 12 tsp (3 mL) salt

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon

  • 34 cups (180 mL) skim milk

  • 1 large egg*

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) melted, unsalted butter

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) vanilla extract

Topping

  • 13 cup (80 mL) Truvia Cane Sugar Blend

  • 12 tsp (3 mL) ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) starch

  • 3 Tbsp (45 mL) skim milk

Directions

  • 1.

    Pre-heat oven to 175° C.

  • 2.

    Combine flour, Truvia Cane Sugar Blend, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl.

  • 3.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla.

  • 4.

    Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until mixed and no large lumps remain.

  • 5.

    Fill sprayed donut pan to 23 full.

  • 6.

    Bake for 8-9 minutes.

  • 7.

    Remove from oven and let rest in pan for 5 minutes, then move to racks to cool.

  • 8.

    While waiting for donuts to cool, in a small microwavable bowl, mix Truvia Cane Sugar Blend, cinnamon and starch. Set aside.

  • 9.

    Heat milk for about 30 seconds in microwave.

  • 10.

    Slowly add hot milk to the small bowl with the other topping ingredients.

  • 11.

    Mix well, heat the small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, carefully remove hot bowl and stir contents until thickens.

  • 12.

    Once donuts are cool, dip tops of donuts into the topping.

  • 13.

    Place back on rack and repeat with remaining donuts.

  • 14.

    Store in a sealed container.
