French Dressing with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

Dress up your favorite salad with this simple and homemade tangy French Dressing. This dressing is made with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend and contains 50% fewer calories* and 69% less sugar* per serving then the full-sugar recipe. Makes 25 servings.

  • 6oz tomato paste

  • 3 tsp (15 mL) corn starch

  • 3 tsp (15 mL) vegetable broth

  • 1 14 cups (300 mL) water

  • 14 tsp (1.25 mL) onion powder

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) paprika

  • 14 cup (60 mL) onion, grated

  • 2 cloves garlic, diced

  • 12 cup (125 mL) white vinegar

    In a large sauce pan, combine tomato paste, cornstarch and vegetable broth, mix until forms a paste.

    Next, add water, salt, Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika onions, garlic, lemon juice, oil and vinegar, whisk until well combined.

    Heat on medium heat, bring to a boil, and boil for 2 minutes. Stir often.

    Let cool on stove top, and transfer to sealable container.

    Store in refrigerator until needed, will firm up as chills. Let chill at least 20 minutes before serving.

*This dressing has 30 calories and 4 grams of sugar per serving compared to the full-sugar version that has 60 calories and 13 grams of sugar per serving.
