Cinnamon Crescent Rolls Recipe with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend and Truvía® Calorie-Free Sweetener

Ingredients

FILLING

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) light whipped butter or light buttery spread, room temperature

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) cinnamon

  • Dash salt

ROLLS

  • 1 package refrigerated Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent roll dough

ICING

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) Truvía® calorie-free sweetener spoonable

  • 14 cup (60 mL) reduced-fat cream cheese

  • 14 cup (60 mL) fat-free plain Greek yogurt

Directions

  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.

  • 2.

    In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix all filling ingredients until uniform.

  • 3.

    Separate dough into its eight triangle-shaped portions. One at a time, stretch or roll each triangle out slightly, making it into a larger triangle.

  • 4.

    Evenly distribute and spread filling among the triangles, avoiding the edges. Beginning at the base, tightly roll up each triangle over the filling. Place on the baking sheet, evenly spaced.

  • 5.

    Bake until golden brown, 12 - 15 minutes. The let cool completely.

  • 6.

    In a small microwave-safe bowl, mix Truvía® calorie-free sweetener with 1 Tbsp (15 mL) water. Microwave for 20 seconds, and stir to dissolve.

  • 7.

    In a medium bowl, stir cream cheese until smooth. Add Truvía® calorie-free sweetener mixture and remaining icing ingredients. Stir until smooth. Transfer icing to a plastic bag, and squeeze it down toward a bottom corner. Snip off that corner with scissors, creating a small hole for piping. Evenly pipe mixture over the crescent rolls.

*These rolls have 140 calories and 6 grams of sugar per serving compared to regular sugar-sweetened version which have 160 calories and 14 grams of sugar.
