Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) onion, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced

  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) butter

  • 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup

  • 1 cup (240 ml) tomato sauce

  • 1⁄2 cup (120 ml) Truvía® Stevia Sweetener Jar

  • 12 cup (120 ml) red wine vinegar

  • 14 cup (60 ml) molasses

  • 12 tsp (2.5 ml) chili powder

  • 1 tsp (5 ml) paprika

  • 12 tsp (2.5 ml) salt

  • 12 tsp (2.5 ml) black pepper

  • 18 tsp (0.625 ml) cinnamon

  • 12 tsp (2.5 ml) cayenne powder

  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tsp (10 ml) liquid smoke (optional)

Directions

  • 1.

    Sauté onion and garlic in butter in medium saucepan.

  • 2.

    In a separate small bowl, stir together the remaining ingredients.

  • 3.

    Add to saucepan; simmer for 30 minutes. For thinner sauce, reduce cook time, and for thicker sauce increase cook time.

  • 4.

    For best results, refrigerate overnight before use.
