For the Loaf:
1⁄2 lb. ground sirloin
1⁄2 ground chuck
2 garlic cloves, smashed and chopped
1⁄2 chopped onion
1⁄2 chopped celery
1 tsp (5 mL) chili pepper
1⁄2 cup (125 mL) chopped bell pepper
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tbsp (30 mL) Truvía® calorie-free sweetener spoonable*
1 lemon, zested
8 ounces canned, diced tomatoes with juice
1⁄2 cup (125 mL) ground bran flakes, ground
1⁄2 tsp (2.5 mL) cracked black pepper
For the Sauce:
1⁄2 cup (125 mL) ketchup
1⁄2 cup (125 mL) canned tomatoes, puréed
1 tsp (5 mL) cumin
1⁄2 cup (125 mL) Truvía® calorie-free sweetener, spoonable**
Dash of worchester sauce
1 Tbsp (15 mL) prepared mustard
Directions
- 1.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2.
Mix all loaf ingredients well and place in a baking dish. Shape into a loaf.
- 3.
Mix ingredients for sauce and spread on top of loaf. Bake for 1 hour.
