Molasses Cookies with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend

Turn on the oven and treat yourself to these spicy molasses cookies made with Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend. Developed by Gaby Dalkin of What's Gaby Cooking, these cookies have 7% fewer calories* and 54% less sugar* than the regular brown sugar-sweetened version. Makes 24 cookies.

Ingredients

  • 34 cup (185 mL) unsalted butter, melted

  • 12 cup (125 mL) Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend, plus extra for rolling

  • 1 egg

  • 13 cup (75 mL) molasses

  • 2 14 cups (560 mL) flour

  • 12 teaspoon (2.5 mL) ground cloves

  • 12 tsp (2.5 mL) powdered ginger

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) baking soda

Directions

  • 1.

    In a large bowl combine the butter, Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend, egg and molasses. Mix for a minute or two until well combined.

  • 2.

    Combine the flour, cloves, ginger cinnamon and baking soda and sift together.

  • 3.

    Slowly add the flour mixture to the molasses mixture and mix until evenly combined.

  • 4.

    Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  • 5.

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • 6.

    Once chilled, scoop 2 tablespoons of dough at a time and roll into balls. Roll them around in a small cup of Truvía® Brown Sugar Blend and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.

  • 7.

    Bake for 10-12 minutes.

  • 8.

    Remove from the oven and transfer the cookies onto a cooling rack to cool.

*These cookies have 130 calories and 5 grams of sugar per serving compared to the full-brown sugar version which have 140 calories and 11 grams of sugar per serving.
