Auntie's Chocolate Chip Cookies with Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

The classic temptation. This cookie has been a family favourite for generations. An easy-to-make version with 15% fewer calories* and 60% less sugar* than the full-sugar version. Makes 30 cookies.

Ingredients

  • 118 (280 mL) cups flour

  • 12 (2.5 mL) tsp salt

  • 12 (2.5 mL) tsp baking soda

  • 12 cup (125 mL) (1 stick) butter, softened

  • 14 cup (50 mL) + 2 Tbsp (30 mL) Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend

  • 12 tsp (2.5 mL) vanilla

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup (6 oz.) (250 mL) chocolate chips

  • 12 Tbsp (7.5 mL) molasses (optional)*

*Adding molasses will give cookies a darker color and richer flavor. This will affect nutritionals

Directions

  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 375° F (190 ° C).

  • 2.

    Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a small bowl.

  • 3.

    Beat butter, Truvía® Cane Sugar Blend and vanilla (and optional molasses) in a separate large mixing bowl. Mix in egg.

  • 4.

    Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.

  • 5.

    Drop rounded tablespoons on cookie sheets and press down to slightly flatten.

  • 6.

    Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned.

*This cookie has 170 calories and 5 grams of sugar per serving compared to the full-sugar version that has 200 calories and 13 grams of sugar per serving.
